AVIATION USE & LIMITATIONS

A clearer picture.
Your decision.

For supplemental reference and situational awareness. Not for navigation.

The pilot in command remains responsible for required preflight review and operational decisions.

Current scope and § 91.103

SITREP does not, at this time, satisfy the complete preflight requirements of 14 CFR § 91.103 and must not be relied upon as doing so. It is a supplemental reference and situational-awareness tool, not a complete preflight briefing, dispatch release, ATC clearance, flight instrument or navigation system. SITREP has not been approved, certified or endorsed by the FAA. Displaying government-issued products does not confer that status on the app, website, summaries or exported reports.

Where the source information comes from

SITREP retrieves METARs, TAFs, pilot reports and supported weather advisories from NOAA/NWS Aviation Weather Center; traffic-management notices from FAA Air Traffic Control System Command Center (ATCSCC); and airport, runway, communications and facility reference information from published FAA aeronautical datasets, including NASR. Available airport diagrams originate from FAA AeroNav. Radar imagery uses NOAA/NWS radar services over an Apple Maps base map. These are identifiable source products, not weather invented by SITREP. Availability, geographic coverage, issue times, validity periods and dataset effective dates differ by product.

Source reports, relays and derived information

D-ATIS is relayed through a third-party feed where available; it is not a direct FAA briefing service or an assurance that the broadcast is current. Manually typed ATIS, imported routes and personal notes are user-supplied. Plain-language decoding, local-time conversions, narratives, wind calculations, comparisons and change cues are SITREP-derived aids. They can contain errors or omit context and are not independently issued or approved by FAA or NOAA/NWS. Original source text, valid periods and applicable operational instructions control.

Independent preflight review

Before flight, the pilot in command and operator must independently obtain and evaluate all information required for the actual operation, including current weather, NOTAMs and restrictions, alternatives, known ATC delays, fuel, runway lengths and aircraft-specific takeoff and landing performance. SITREP does not provide or verify all of those elements. Use appropriate current authoritative sources and consult Flight Service when needed. The FAA recognizes that a thorough self-briefing may comply with applicable rules; this notice does not assert that a particular provider, logged record or FAA approval of an app is universally required by § 91.103.

Exports and briefing records

Opening SITREP, generating or saving a PDF, acknowledging a notice, using Apple sign-in or viewing source timestamps does not establish regulatory compliance, file a flight plan or create a Flight Service briefing record. A SITREP export is a compiled snapshot only. Local history and export timestamps do not prove that a complete briefing was obtained, read or retained by a recognized briefing service.

Freshness, missing coverage and reliance

Reports can be delayed, incomplete, mistranslated, mismatched, superseded or unavailable. Cached and offline material may be expired. Blank results and missing alerts do not establish safe weather, an open runway, no NOTAM or unrestricted operations. Charts and radar have coverage and validity limits. Review source issue/valid times and chart effective dates separately from download or export time. Do not use SITREP alone for a go/no-go, dispatch, approach-minimum, diversion or other safety-critical decision.

Risk allocation and retained rights

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, SITREP and its Company-provided summaries are supplied as is and as available, without a guarantee of accuracy, completeness, timeliness, uninterrupted availability or suitability for a particular flight. The pilot in command and operator retain their regulatory responsibilities. Applicable license terms, mandatory consumer rights and liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded remain in force. This notice is not a release of nonwaivable rights, a promise of future approval or an assumption of the pilot’s operational duties by Golf Delta Bravo Aviation, LLC.
